So I've decided to start a record of what I'm doing in Japan! Just for friends and family to keep up with what I'm up to. Enjoy!
The overseas studies program that I'm in is called SCTI (Stanford Center for Technology and Innovation...=P ). For the first three months, we'll be in Kyoto taking Stanford courses with each other and also with Japanese students from Doshisha University. We'll each be living with a host family; mine is a couple in their 70s. During the summer, most of the kids in my program will move somewhere else in Japan to do an internship with a Japanese company. I just found out that I'll be working at Toshiba Design Center, probably as an industrial design intern. I still haven't found out where I'll be living for the summer.
Right now I'm still in San Diego, and I'll be leaving on Tuesday morning for Kyoto. It should be lots of fun and a great learning experience!

how long will you be in japan? this semester, and this summer... and you'll be back in the fall?
it sounds like you'll have a very fun experience, and i'm glad that i'll be able to read about them too! it'll almost be like catching up! =)
